Heart diseases are the top killer in the U.S, accounting for more than 20% of deaths. We believe that technologies dedicated to timely diagnosis and early treatment of heart diseases can make a significant difference to these statistics. AliveCor is a company dedicated to creating personal ECG devices that use AI. We have reported on the company since 2014. Our last report on their advancement was the FDA approval for AliveCor’s six-lead ECG device in 2019.

This year, the company has launched a new device: the KardiaMobile Card. It’s a personal, single-lead ECG device in a credit card form factor. The FDA has cleared this slim device that can record heart activity and deliver an ECG result in 30 seconds. It’s almost like having a virtual cardiologist in your wallet. The Bluetooth-enabled ECG device can detect six of the most common heart arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, bradycardia, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), sinus rhythm with SVE, and sinus rhythm with Wide QRS.

The purchase price of $149 includes a 1-year KardiaCare membership.  The KardiaCare Membership for allows users access to Cardiologist-ECG-reviews. The membership offers advanced features to help users better manage their health. It includes ECG evaluations by board-certified cardiologists, heart health reports with ECG and blood pressure data, automatic ECG sharing with caregivers, medication tracking, weight and BP monitoring, and detection of advanced heart conditions, such as Sinus Rhythm with Wide QRS. Membership in KardiaCare is required to use the device; after the first year included with the purchase, membership costs $99 a year.
