A panel of expert judges named the Widex Moment machine-learning hearable technology a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree in two categories: Health & Wellness and Wearable Technologies. We wrote about Widex Moment in November. The Consumer Trade Association (CTA) announced the Innovation Awards recipients prior to the first all-digital CES 2021 to be held January 11-14, 2021.

The CES judging panel honored Widex for the its dual artificial intelligence engines that employ machine learning technology to improve listening in two ways. New users provide input via A-B comparisons about how they prefer to hear sounds in various environments. Widex draws from an ever-growing bank of millions of user preference settings to craft a personalized configuration for each customer. Next, the engine tracks the user’s manual adjustments and incorporates those changes in the customized configuration. The judges also recognized Widex PureSound ZeroDelay technology which uses parallel processing to reduce sound processing latency from the industry average 7-10 milliseconds to just 0.5 milliseconds. The result, according to Widex and the CES judges, is a much more natural sound without tinny distortions that often occur with longer latency.

There are six Widex Moment hearing aid models, including three receiver-in-canal models and three in-the-ear models. Widex Moment hearing aids are available worldwide, restricted to dealers that require face-to-face diagnostics, fitting, counseling, selection, and maintenance by a licensed medical professional.
