Digital health innovation features heavily in the 3rd annual P&G Ventures CES Innovation Challenge. The four finalists will pitch leading-edge health tech solutions in the live, virtual challenge on January 13th, 2021. The live challenge, part of Proctor & Gamble’s CES LifeLab exhibit, takes place online during the all-virtual CES 2021 convention and is open to the general public (for free).
The Innovation Challenge aims to spotlight next-generation technologies that have the potential to transform the lives of individuals and families. The selection process focused on solutions that directly address consumer pain-points with forward-looking new products or services that demonstrate a clear impact on the consumer’s everyday experience. Here are two of the four finalists:
Fluo Labs, LLC has developed a light-therapy tool that provides medication-free relief from common allergy symptoms. Sneezing, itchy, watery eyes, and other allergy symptoms arise due to an allergic histamine response which causes inflammation. The handheld Fluo device provides 12 seconds of exposure to red and infrared light delivered to the nostril. In those 12 seconds, the light acts as a powerful antihistamine, providing fast, long-lasting allergy relief.
Dr. Courtney Hill, pediatric ENT, MedTech innovator, and CEO of Glimpse Diagnostics, will present the company’s sophisticated AI diagnostic technology. Now in beta testing, the technology allows families to obtain an accurate ear infection diagnosis for their little ones from the comfort of home. The technology makes telemedicine more effective while reducing the need for in-person office visits.
The finalists also include SAVRPak, a safe food-packaging solution, and spotLESS Materials Inc., maker of safe, non-stick materials that enhance efficiency and conserve water. The Innovation Challenge winner receives a grand prize of $10,000 and the opportunity to pitch to the tech-based venture capital firm M13.
