According to a report on The BitBag, Windows Phone 8.1 users will soon get support for the popular Fitbit device “soon.”
Windows Phone users have been left out of much of the WellTech health and fitness market, as the iOS and Android platforms offer much larger targets for the app developers. Now that Fitbit has establish a dominant position in this market, however (see “Fitbit Leads the Wearables World: Canalys“), it makes sense that the company is willing to expand to cover the outliers. While this is unlikely to garner a significant increase in the installed base for the fitness tracker, it can’t hurt to pick up more users.
