An new Harris poll commissioned by A&D Medical discloses that two out of three Americans are concerned about their weight, according to a MedCity News article. Only about half of those surveyed, however, were concerned about their blood pressure. And just over one in five was concerned about having a heart attack.

One encouraging result showed that more than half wanted a wearable Health Tech device that could monitor some of their key vital signs and relay that information to a healthcare professional, caregiver, or family member.

This willingness to gather biometric health data and make it available to others is an important step in aggregating information at the individual and community level. This also would seem to point toward adding more features to wearable Health Tech devices in order to provide more kinds of information that consumers want.
